We participated in the unique educational project Zero-G, aiming to bring the world of science, technology, and space exploration closer to the younger generation. For selected participants, we designed and produced suits that successfully performed under zero-gravity conditions during a simulated space flight. Aboard a specially modified Airbus A310, departing from Václav Havel Airport in Prague, the cadets were accompanied by a five-member mission crew made up of well-known public figures.

Parabolic flight in zero gravity

Young space enthusiasts, who underwent six months of astronaut selection training, experienced zero gravity firsthand during a parabolic flight. The mission was led by Czech astronaut-in-training Aleš Svoboda and included public figures like artist Yemi A.D., actress Jana Plodková, science communicator Jan Spratek, scientist Simon Klinga, influencer Karel "Kovy" Kovář, entertainer Martin Mikyska aka Mikýř, and Czech Television presenter Daniel Stach.
President Petr Pavel personally saw the participants off – and took one of our suits as a keepsake.

Design with style and purpose

The suits were designed by MALFINI's Product & Creative Director Anna Tušková. The selected material was a modern organic selvedge denim from a Portuguese weaving mill – durable, stylish, and comfortable. The suits were made in the Czech Republic with a focus on details such as functional pockets, technical stitching, and a color palette reflecting the spirit of space missions and the needs of the participants.

Aiming higher with courage

“Czech innovation is already visible in many areas. Textile innovation and advanced design are a natural result of the values on which MALFINI was founded. The company uses modern technologies. Like the eagle in our logo, we want to aim higher – to the stars. The eagle represents courage, vision beyond the horizon, and strength to soar when the winds are right,” says board member Jan Chovanec.
He also expressed his gratitude to the entire team whose professionalism, creativity, and commitment enabled MALFINI to be part of such an extraordinary and inspiring project.
